I love the 4th of July, the fireworks, the parades and of course, the barbecues. If you’re like me you probably haven’t cleaned of the grill since your Memorial Day bbq. Now, the best way to clean off a grill is to use a non-toxic cleaner and a metal grill brush. But what should you use if you don’t happen to have a non-toxic grill cleaner? Well here are a few other options for cleaning your grill this holiday.
“Vinegar”- The vinegar can work well to get suck on food and rust off of the grill. When the grill is warm, simply mix vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray the grill. Wait about 45 min. and use a brush to scrape the rack clean. You can also use vinegar to clean the outside of a stainless steel grill too.
“Coffee”- Pour a full pot of coffee into a basin with your grill racks, and let sit for about an hour. Afterwards, scrub the racks off and rinse with warm water.
“Olive Oil”- First use a wire grill brush to get the larger chunks of food off of the grill. Then, coat the racks with olive oil and use a scraper to get off the remaining pieces of food. After that simply rinse off the grill with water or wipe with a wet rag. If you put olive oil on the racks before you cook, it will keep the meat from sticking.
Have a happy and safe holiday!
